Skokiewill be holding tryouts to fill several open positions on its 8U travel baseball team.

For 2017, 8U is defined as birthdays from 5/1/2008 to approximately 8/31/2009.

We are looking for players that are ready to play at a more competitive, kid-pitch level, with a real love for the game.

Travel baseball entails a greater commitment to the game, from both a time and cost perspective.  Travel players have a real love for the game and an interest in learning.  The 8U team practices with the 9U team indoors in the winter on Saturdays from 6:30-8pm and Sundays from 5-7pm and outdoors through the spring and summer.  From late May through July, Skokie travel teams play in the Lake Shore Feeder Baseball League (LSFBL) against teams from surrounding communities, which is a B-level competitive league, and may also play in tournaments.  In the spring, travel players are additionally required to play on a spring house league team.  The team also may play in a fall travel league from late August through October.
