We are excited to announce an upcoming heart screening event at Niles North High
School on May 7th, and we need your help to make it a success!

Through the generosity of Endeavor Health, the Jim Janak Memorial Fund, and Niles
Twp. District 219, on May 7th, Young Hearts for Life (YH4L.org) will be coming to Niles
North High School in Skokie to offer a FREE heart screening called an
electrocardiogram (ECG) to all students. ECG screening can identify about 70% of
young adults who are at risk for Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA): a preparticipation
physical can identify 4% of those at risk. More than 60 young adults in the US die from
SCD every week, and this event is aimed at the long term well being of the Niles North
student community.

However, to ensure the smooth operation of the event and provide the best possible
care to attendees, we are in need of volunteers. Volunteer roles include assisting with
registration, ECG screenings, and logistical tasks. Whether you have medical expertise
or simply a desire to support your community, there's a place for you on our volunteer
team.

The student heart screening event will take place at Niles North High School on May
7th, during the school day. There are morning, afternoon and all day volunteer shifts
available. If you sign up to volunteer, there will be a mandatory volunteer training the
evening before on May 6th.

If you're available and willing to lend a hand, please consider signing up to volunteer
using the link provided below. Your contribution will make a real difference in the lives of
our neighbors by helping to ensure their heart health.
